This building reminded me of my project initially because of the was it appears to have horizontal structures and gaps in between. Looking closer they are balconies. I used six paper rolls made of magazine pages on four sides to make a cube. I left even gaps in between the rolls to weave my twigs in and out of the paper rolls. The vertical supports of this building contrast the horizontal balconies because of the slope it has. My twigs are contrasted by the magazine rolls for two reasons. My twigs are a very natural color, set off by the bright colors of pages of the magazine. Also while my twigs have some curves, some buds, are different widths and heights; The magazine rolls are all very smooth and are all the same exact width and lengths. The way the vertical supports intersect the horizontal structures also remind me of my twig project. My cube is put together kind of like lincoln logs. They become their own knotched on the corners in order to connect to another side of the cube.
